My 6th marathon in the last 4 years, and my 4th Sundown; statistically significant? Probably not, but it was still significant.
The following press release should help runners better prepare for the coming race in May. The route does not seem to differ much from last year, albeit a few changes in some sections earlier on in the race. I’ m a bit disappointed with the move to start at the F1 Pit Building (not exactly close to the nearest MRT station per se), but as long as the congestion is controlled, the race should be fine.
When I took up running in 2009, it didn’t occur to me how soon I was able to run a full marathon (about 5 months after i ran my first half marathon). And at that time, I didn’t think I would be involved with people running/promoting the event, the science of the it, and my continued interest in the growing sport of running.
I’ll be honest here; I have yet to venture into the realm of Ultra-running yet; call it excuses, procrastination, busy with work, school and etc. Nevertheless, I have been fortunate, or maybe too fortunate to have been presented the opportunity to meet with some of the finest ultra-runners in the world today.
It has been awhile since my last entry. I have been diligently running around my schedule of work and school. It has done well so far, and I’m ever so thankful that I have not been injured for this month of January, and that my running has been more consistent. I’d attribute it to some of the thing I’ve learnt it school, and I have quickly applied it to my training.
The Terry Fox Run 2012 is a run privileged enough to have started off my 2011 and 2012 racing calendar. While I ran with a group of friends last year, this year was a solo run for me. I do have to thank Azhar for accompanying me to the run despite withdrawing from the event due to an sprained ligament.
